AquaScan Templating System
Aquascan is a state-of-the-art templating system designed to create a digital template for the area where you want to apply Aquagrip. Whether you're looking to cover a small, simple area or your entire boat deck, this system will assist you.
Aquascan is easy to use; you can complete the process simply with your cell phone and the special targets we provide.
Below, you will find a set of instructions along with instructional videos to guide you on how to properly use the system.
AQUASCAN TEMPLATING SYSTEM
These instructions are designed to assist you in creating a digital
template of the required areas.
STEP 1: PLACING TARGETS
1. Begin by locating large target A.
2. Position large target A alongside additional large targets.
3. Utilize the small targets to fill in areas that are either too small for
the large targets or to bridge gaps between larger targets.
4. Ensure that the targets are securely affixed to the surface by
taping the corners to prevent movement during the photography
process.
5. Strategically place targets with consideration for your movement
around the vessel without stepping on or displacing the targets.
STEP 2: TAKING PICTURES
1. On either an iPhone or Android device, ensure that live photos
are disabled.
2. Utilize the standard zoom setting when opening the camera
application. It is crucial that the zoom setting remains unchanged
throughout the photo-taking process.
3. Hold the camera at a high angle to capture images of the entire
area, incorporating as many targets in each photo as possible.
4. Navigate around all sides of the project, taking photos from
directly overhead and from various angles to ensure
comprehensive coverage.
5. It is permissible to capture closer images in confined spaces or
over objects, provided that several targets remain visible in the
photo.
6. All photos should be sharp and clear, devoid of blurs, shadows,
or obstructions.
7. Do not cover any areas that the Aquagrip flooring will surround or
require cutting around with the targets.
8. For full boat decks, position targets around the entire deck. Begin
taking photos at the front, capturing multiple angles as you
proceed toward the back and then up the opposite side. It is
essential to include targets from the front photos in the side
photos and ensure continuity for the side and back photos as you
move across the boat.
KEY POINTS
1. Large target A must be included in each new project.
2. Ensure adequate spacing of targets to prevent obstruction of
areas that Aquagrip foam will be cut around.
3. All photographs must be clear and free from blurriness or
obstructions.
4. Live photos must not be utilized.
5. Targets must remain stationary during the photography process.
6. Strive to capture as many targets as possible in each photograph.
7. Use varied angles and perspectives during photography.
PICTURE QUANTITIES
1. For smaller projects, such as swim platforms, console tops, cooler
tops, helm pads, forward seating, and similar applications, aim for
30 - 40 photographs.
2. For complete boat decks, a total of 100 - 150 photographs are
recommended.
